I built a pond myself at my summer house, it is 4×6 meter, and the depth is About 75-1meter MAX! the pond is made with pond liner, it has some plants, not to many… and currently i got no filter. Otherwise i got some rather large schubunkin fish in the pond. Now the main question is : Is the pond big enough to have Koi fish in ? And if it is big enough: what filters and stuff would you recommend? Thanks for help! saf768 on March 18, 2010 at 11:15 pm yes it is big to put koi fish in it BeetsBearsBG on March 19, 2010 at 5:19 pm That’s amazing! Well done. meljmcn on April 14, 2010 at 12:10 am im just going to put plant and goldfish in mine howarth004 on April 24, 2010 at 9:32 pm how do you clean the filter system? saltylug on April 25, 2010 at 5:19 am @howarth004 The filter will eventually become clogged with fish waste after several years. You will notice this when the water flow radically reduces. When this happens the fish will need to be transferred to a holding pond and the clogged pond will need to be emptied and cleaned. This pond is 9 years old so far and no signs of clogging! howarth004 on April 25, 2010 at 5:48 am @saltylug Good system, I used it years ago , but I found the cleaning needed to be done more often , but then again My filter covered a smaller area. Firagax2 on April 28, 2010 at 5:38 am is it possible to make a design where you can see the fish underwater? glass windows? SECRETBOL on May 3, 2010 at 11:42 pm Very Beautiful pond !
